by Sweet Tech Daddy | 22 Views | 0 Comments | Rating: (0 rates)

I know I know this is a console site, but with the recent posts of computers and such, and no real news on the consoles, I decided to post this/

Get ready to have your socks blown off!

Ati has introduced in its newest line of video cards, eyefinity. Building off of what a few companies started long ago, ATI knocked it up a notch!

Multi-display gaming is nothing new to gaming enthusiast but it has been something that was not easily attained. AMD has changed that by delivering Eyefinity Technology will all of is next generation GPUs that are currently being introduced to consumers. Eyefinity delivers great performance on the Radeon HD 5870 video card.

You can get a in-depth review and a PDF here

UPDATE:

02/12/2009: A new patch was added to the Forums today that was released to fix some recent vunerabilities. I just finished applying the patch this morning. Hopefully this will stop the basterds from getting in!

OK looks like the buggers got in again! This time they were a little smarter and used a proxy so I couldnt track them. I managed to pull some transfer logs off of our domain host and found some suspisious IP numbers.

I have banned them but please if anyone notices anything fishy please let me know. Sal already mentioned he is getting some wierd popups. Is anyone else getting these? I am downloading the site source now so I can search through it to make sure no other modifications are done. So far it has just been the main page (since that controls everything).

So hopefully it is done with, And if anyone cant get in, let me know I may have banned your IP by accident. but so far the IPS are from germany and Japan.

Again, let me know if you see anything strange happening on the site. Most know how to get hold of me, worst comes to worst, send me a message on xbox if you cant email me.

Thanks again, and sorry about the hackers.... Ill get them!

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

Update on the game 2old has been needing!

Regarding hardcore mode, Executive Producer Sion Lenton
says the following to the fans:

Hi all, I thought it might be time for another update on Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.

Now the dust has settled from E3 (and the jetlag) its back to business as usual, we’re all very pleased at how Operation Flashpoint was received at the show and nominations for best shooter from IGN and Gamespot gave us a tremendous sense of achievement.

Today I thought I’d take the opportunity to write a few words about the hardcore mode in our game. We have 3 levels of gameplay; Assisted, Normal and Hardcore. I like to think of Hardcore as turning the game up to 11, we’ve had to add the number 11 as a result of the feedback from you guys on our initial hardcore screenshots released back in May.

You lot are a bunch of masochists but, you’ve got it; the hardcore mode in Operation Flashpoint will contain no HUD/UI elements at all other than radio chatter subtitles. That’s right, no crosshair, no compass, no gun or ammo displays…Nothing…

There will be no objective markers, no bleed meter, no direction of fire indicator, no enemy location  highlights and no damage indicators. Nothing!

To show you what we mean, here's an example for you all taken with the new hardcore settings.

All navigation will have to be done via the map; calling up your QCR (quick command radial) will show you your fireteam status only while the button is held, and pressing weapons select will bring up the weapon/ammo selection menu, again only visible whilst the button is pressed. In addition there are no checkpoints, no soft saves and no hard saves, there’s only one word for it, HARDCORE!!!

I hope that satisfies your ravenous appetite for pain and misery ive gotta say after playing it for the last few days im already loving it!

Time to sign off now, games don’t make themselves.

Thanks again for all your support, there’s been some fascinating discussions on the forum over the last few weeks and im pleased my feedback on the E3 demo allayed some of your concerns.

So, until the next time, I’m look forward to popping a cap in your head online, nothing to serious, but enough to make you bleed, badly.

Sion

E3 interview with some details about what Operation Flashpoint is all about

Update on Hardcore mode from Helios, Community Manager
1)So far all of this info about hardcore mode seems to be in a single player environment. Can we get this confirmed for co-op and MP as well?
Co-Op and MP too.

2)It's said that for navigation you pull up the map...does that also pull up the compass? I know that was a strip across the top of the screen in the E3 demo, does that come up when you look at the map in hardcore mode? And/or does the map indicate your position and direction you're facing?
You don't get a compass when you bring up your map, but on the map your positional indicator shows you what direction you are facing. Also, bringing your binoculars up will also tell you where you are facing directionally (20 degrees, 340 degrees etc).

Update on release date
"As promised, today we are pleased to announce that Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will be shipping on October 6th in North America and releasing on October 8th through EPAC territories with a October 9th street date in the UK."

IL-2: Birds of Prey

Update:  there will be both SP and MP demos! One is already awaiting approval.

--------------------------------

The famed PC flight sim will make it's appearance on consoles this Fall, to the delight
of mature gamers around the world. WWII like you've never played it!
Multiplayer will feature Ground Strike and Capture the Airfield game modes, as well as
other standard game types.

Single player covers 5 theaters of war in Europe, including the Battle of Britain, Stalingrad,
Berlin, Sicily and Korsun Pocket.  There will be a dozen planes featured in the single
player campaign, but over 50 for multiplayer.

the-nextlevel.com says:
"1C Company's IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey wasn't even mentioned on the show floor,
but it proved to be one of the convention's biggest surprises."

The game owes much of it's atmosphere to the talents of Jeremy Soule for the musical
score. His previous works include Star Wars: KOTOR, SOCOM: The Navy Seals,
Company of Heroes, and all Elder Scrolls games, including Oblivion.

Read more about IL-2 Birds of Prey in Jetson's first hand E3 report.
